Reports to the IT Operations Manager (US). The IT & PLM Systems Technician is responsible for the support and development of IT systems and software for our Italian branch offices, including supporting our PLM & CAD applications. They will play a key part in ensuring the delivery of best in class IT solutions and services to the company and its users.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Work Experience:
BSc or MIS or Computer Science required, or equivalent work experience. Typically requires at least 2-3 years’ experience in the IT field. Ideally have experience supporting PLM and/or CAD systems. Working in an international environment desirable.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Have relevant experience in a similar technical position. Be extremely self-driven and able to work efficiently with little or no daily supervision. A quick thinker, be a flexible and adaptive character with the ability react to and solve problems with speed and efficiency, sometimes under high pressure.
Equipment and Applications:
Solid understanding of Ethernet networking, switching, routing, network installations and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of Microsoft server & desktop environments and Active Directory. Experience with virtualised environments. Knowledge and experience of one or more leading PLM/PDM systems an advantage. Experience with CAD software such as Catia V5/V6, Windchill, Creo/Pro E.
Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritise within a pressurised time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. Excellent communications skills in both Italian and English are required. The role requires regular travel between two fixed sites and a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast- paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids.
