IT Support Technician

General Summary: 

Reports to IT Operations Manager or his designee.  The IT Support Technician is responsible for end user support to all employees at Haas F1 Team.  They will play a key part in ensuring the delivery of best in class IT solutions and services to the company and its users.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to users at fixed site locations.
  • Administration of the HF1 Office 365 environment, including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, backup/archive and software licensing.
  • Support and administer Windows based services such as Active Directory, File Permissions, Windows Updates, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
  • Utilize end point management tools, monitoring systems and machine imaging software.
  • Process starters and leavers, including hardware, software, licensing, inductions, archiving and permissions.
  • Support voice systems, meeting room technology and audio visual equipment.
  • Maintain factory asset management tools and stock control.
  • Provide cover for trackside operations as and when required.
  • Assist with user and system backups including disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Ensure up to date documentation and accurate reporting as required.
  • Adhere to all IT, Health & Safety and wider business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the IT Operations Manager or his designee.

Education and Work Experience:

BS in MIS or Computer Science required, or equivalent work experience. Typically requires at least 1-2 years’ experience in the IT field. Exposure to racing and international  environments is desirable.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Have relevant experience in a similar technical position, ideally in a motorsport or other pressured environment.  Be extremely self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision.  A quick thinker, be a flexible and adaptive character with the ability react to and solve problems with speed and efficiency, sometimes under high pressure.

Equipment and Applications:

Good understanding of Microsoft desktop and server environments and Active Directory.  Working experience with WinTel end user support, peripheral devices, imaging, voice systems and Ethernet networking.  CompTIA or equivalent certifications is an advantage.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and priority within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role requires a willingness to work flexible hours, including a significant portion of weekends.  It will include occasional travel to race and test events.

This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast- paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands.  Work environment includes race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids.
