General Summary: Reporting to the IT Operations Manager (UK) and based in our office near Parma, Italy, the IT Systems Technician is responsible for the operational support and development of IT systems in our Italian branch offices, as well as assisting with support and development of our global estate. They will play a key part in ensuring the delivery of best in class IT solutions and services to the company and its users.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and Work Experience:
BSc or MIS or Computer Science required, or equivalent work experience. Typically requires at least 2-3 years’ experience in the IT field. Preferably have experience and/or exposure to supporting PLM/CAD systems and software.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Have relevant experience in a similar technical position. As the sole IT member on site, this role requires exceptional self-management and excellent communications skills. A quick thinker: be flexible and adaptive with the ability to react and solve problems with speed and efficiency, sometimes under high pressure. Italian written and verbal skills an advantage.
Equipment and Applications:
Microsoft server & desktop environments, Windows domains and Active Directory. Ethernet networking, switching, routing, network installations and troubleshooting. Virtualised environments. Knowledge and experience of one or more leading PLM/PDM systems and experience supporting CAD software such as desirable.
Work Environment Physical Demands:
The role is based in Italy. Will involve travel between two fixed sites and a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
This position may require lifting up to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast- paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids.
